ESRA and the Spaceport America Crew are in the process of negotiating new agreements with local Hotels for the 2018 SA Cup. This page will be updated with new information as those agreements are formalized.
Hotel Accommodations in Las Cruces, NM
ESRA highly recommend all participants at the First Annual Spaceport America Cup (SA Cup), stay in Las Cruces, NM. Together with the Spaceport America crew, we have negotiated a block rate on rooms at the Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces. All rooms in the block will be offered to participants for TBD per night. Furthermore, due to our filling nearly all their rooms the staff have graciously offered us 24/7 access to the hotel's conference spaces, where teams may store their hardware and perform non-hazardous work on their rockets (eg electronics) - all with plenty of space instead of working in a cramped hotel room.
ESRA would like very much for all teams to take advantage of this offer since our partnership with the hotel is tied to our hosting the First Annual SA Cup Conference poster and podium sessions at the Las Cruces Convention Center at a heavily discounted rate.
Participants may book their rooms at the block rate either by calling the hotel directly (575-522-4300 or 1-866-383-0443) or by using the TBR_Booking Page created for the SA Cup. The hotel staff have assured us they will increase the number of rooms in the block as much as necessary to support our needs. Therefore, if the booking link indicates all rooms are filled, participants need only call the hotel directly and ask to book additional rooms at the "Spaceport America Cup" block rate of TBD.
The Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces is located at 705 South Telshor Boulevard, Las Cruces, NM 88011.
Camping On-site at the Spaceport America VLA
Understanding that some rocketeers are more adventurous than others, the Spaceport America Crew will permit competition participants to camp-out at the Vertical Launch Area (VLA) during the on-site component of the First Annual SA Cup - beginning on the launch preparation day scheduled for 20 June.
