We are pleased to announce the addition of the R. Gilbert Moore Award for Innovation. It will apply to the rocket and payload, and come with a cash award provided by donors (they will remain anonymous until we verify whether they want to be identified or not). Dr. Moore got his start in the sounding rocket business flying payloads on captured German V-2s at White Sands, New Mexico after WWII. He has long been a champion of direct student involvement in rocketry and space experimentation. He has also been a staunch supporter of the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition since the first one in 2006 (where he was the Guest of Honor).
A summary of the 9th IREC awards is on the new Awards page. Please note the separate Payload Award this year.
